400 Small Block Swap - Page 7

(Please be patient, as there are ALOT of photos, tho I've divided amongst a number of pages)

Prepping the motor now for paint and I begin to paint away.

Nothing nicer then a nice clean freshly painted engine.

One of the many bonuses of buying performance parts .... STICKERS !!!.
As Glenn applies some new stickers to his collection, I cleaned up and put away a bunch of tools.

Well, let's begin. As I had started Project: MEAN GREEN by first undoing the air cleaner, thought I'd do the same again.

Let's we get the hood off and out of the way and then begin to take off the accessories.

Our first accident !!! Cut my finger ... where the hell is my mom ?? , I'm bleeding to death here !!!
We were able to control the bleeding right away and wasn't long before I was back at it ... maybe 2, 3 mins tops!

Slowly taking the car apart, Glenn is heating the driveshaft we are gonna put in some new U-Joints. As well I'm cleaning off the water pump so it can be prep and ready for paint on the new motor.
Had to cut a few corners as money was getting tight, so I reused the waterpump from the 350.

Kelly came out to give me a hand pulling out the motor. Unfortunealy due to surgery for a condition, Kelly has troubles with his hands. He was mostly there for support, and to keep me company and be the tool-boy. Kelly was also incharge of calling 9-1-1 incase I had any more woopies ...

Up, UP!, and AWAY!!! - Out comes the 350. I find it so much easier to pull the tranny out with the motor as oppose to leaving it in the car and trying to connect the motor back up to it later on.
Unfortunealy when pulling out the motor, I had the lower tranny line caught on the rad-cradle so it got bent up abit ... nothing we couldn't fix.
