I have a YouTube Channel called 'Daves Days of Summer'. We started making little short videos of our summers up here in Winnipeg, Manitoba as a way of bringing our 'Car Scene' to a sick friend from down in the US.

Where am I going with this? Well, we made a few episodes of the 'Holley Sniper EFI' Install onto the Nova.

The videos are NOT only of the install, but of typical shenanigans that could occur working in the garage with your friends.

My OVERALL opinion of the Holley Sniper EFI System (Master Kit) is ... it's the BEST upgrade I ever installed on my Nova!!

The Holley Sniper EFI (MASTER KIT) system was installed May 2017.

I wouldn't say it added a ton of power or anything over using the Holley 650 Double Pumper Carb, but more optimized what I had already. I have yet to dyno the car with the Sniper EFI System. While running a Holley 750 Double Pumper, I dyno'd the Nova in May of 2016. At this time, I was having some ignition issues and had just taken the car out from winter storage and straight to the dyno, so those numbers could be off alittle. The results at the rear wheels were - 317hp/347tq.

The car starts at the turn of a key, just turn on the ignition and allow the fuel system to prime and turn the key to start and the Nova fires right up. No fuss or playing with the gas pedal as you would with a carberator or screwing around with a choke. Sniper controls it all.

Along with the Holley Sniper EFI Master Kit, I ordered the Holley Dual Sync distributor to go along with it, so the Sniper will also control timing.

The Nova sat for almost 3 weeks during the month of August in 2017, and I reached in, turned the key and it fired right up .... I was stunned, but amazed.

The only downside was the overall cost, but it's worth saving up for ... and my plan now is to save up and buy another system for the Omega!

Further UPDATE of my OVERALL opinion of the Holley Sniper EFI System (Master Kit) from Fall 2019.

I've been running the Sniper EFI system for 3 years (Summer 2017, 2018 and 2019). Over the years, I ran into a few 'problems' ... but not to the fault of any HOLLEY product.

Although I had difficulties finding a spot for the 'temperature' sensor to get an accurate reading. This caused some issues with programming of the Sniper as it needs temperature input to help complete it's tune.

Location #1 - Driver Side Head - This spot would of been the perfect spot, but it is where I have my Auto Meter gauge sensor, and I did not want to lose use of that gauge.

Location #2 - Driver Side Intake at the front of the Engine. - This spot would of been ideal to use except my 'Upper Rad' hose runs over this area and the sensor was too tall to install here.

Location #3 - Passenger Side Head - This spot is where I originally installed the 'Sniper' temperature sensor and it gave me some very high readings which effected the tuning. However, even with the high temp readings ... the Nova still ran pretty good. I can't really set how this effected the 'tuning' of the system.

I ended up drilling into the front coolant passage of the intake and had a bung welded in where I installed the sensor and it gave a good reading of coolant temperature (comparing with my other AutoMeter Temp Gauge). However to weld in the bung, the intake had to be removed.

Upon reinstalling of the intake, the DualSync distributor needed to be reinstalled. Using the 'Holley Distributor' Install video, I skipped ahead to the section on installation, dropped the distributor in and away I went. Nova fired right up and away I went.

Later that summer, I ran the Nova at the track and I was lucky to run a mid-13 second pass. Nova sounded good and strong, but just wasn't getting down the track. A friend of mine said it sounded like it didn't have enough timing in it.
