We continue on at the back of the car, with the wiring of the Holley Electric Fuel Pump and installation of the NEW gas tank.

We drilled a new hole to run the power wire through to the underside, beside the other hole where the fuel gauge wire is routed. A rubber grommet is used to protect the 12v power wire of the fuel pump.

Before installing the Gas tank, we had to trim up the output line of the 'Sending Unit' so it would line up better and be easier to connect up to the pre-filter of the 'Fuel Plate'.

Gas tank is installed and bolted up, with the power wire for the fuel pump which runs over the top of the tank, along side of the factory fuel gauge.

Derek gets in there, checking things out and then connects the 'Return Line' from the Sniper to the gas tank.

Pressurized Fuel Line is installed from the 'Sending Unit' to the 'Pre-filter' and then the supply line is connected to the 'Post-filter'.

We finished up wiring up the electric fuel pump.

I placed a extra piece of hose overtop of the supply line where it comes against the gas tank, to prevent any damage to the supply line.

The Dual Sync distributor uses an external coil, so we purchased an 'MSD Blaster SS Coil - Part #8207' from Auto Parts Center, as well as some sparkplug wire connectors to make a coil wire.

Installed the coil ontop of the heater box, close to the heater motor wiring hole is. The coil comes with some vibration pads, BE VERY CAREFUL when installing and tighten the screw as the metal peg will break loose easily.

I broke 2 of the 3 during the install without much effort. Ended up using a little glue to glue the pegs back into the rubber. That didn't last long and eventually that 3rd one gave way after a couple days of driving around, and the coil fell. Thankfully the coil wire held the coil from falling and shortening out.

I krazy-glued 2 of them back together and drilled the 3rd through the rubber part and used a long nut and double bolted it so if the pegs fail, the coil won't fall off the firewall.

Afterwards we hook up the coil to the 'Coil Driver Module' and 12v power wire.

Quickly check over everything. Wire connections, Fuel connections, throttle linkages ... Let's see what happens!

Derek, Kevin and myself are ready to fire up the Nova and see if just like the video ... car should fire right up!!
Just like that, the Nova comes to life. Took a couple seconds to crank over, then it ran really rough for about 5-10 seconds and after that started to run and idle like we never touched it.

Not only was it idling nicely, but it wasn't run rich and it wasn't stinking up the garage.

After a couple days of driving, I'm confident that everything is good. Time to get out the wire loom, some small tie wraps and make things look pretty.

When connecting the Sniper up to direct power on the battery as it instructs you too, I used the top posts on my battery, as the car already uses the side posts.

For the 3.5in Sniper Display Touchscreen, I ran the cable inside the car, curled up the slack and placed it under the car mat, but left enough to mount it down by the rest of my gauges.

I bought a $3 Cellphone Holder from the 'Dollarama' store, clipped it under my radio and ran the holder out to hold the Sniper display.

Some shots of the engine bay after a successful Holley Sniper EFI w/Dual Sync Distributor install.

I have a YouTube Channel called 'Daves Days of Summer'. We started making little short videos of our summers up here in Winnipeg, Manitoba as a way of bringing our 'Car Scene' to a sick friend from down in the US.

Where am I going with this? Well, we made a few episodes of the 'Holley Sniper EFI' Install onto the Nova.

The videos are NOT only of the install, but of typical shenanigans that could occur working in the garage with your friends.

My OVERALL opinion of the Holley Sniper EFI System (Master Kit) is ... it's the BEST upgrade I ever installed on my Nova!!

The Holley Sniper EFI (MASTER KIT) system was installed May 2017.

I wouldn't say it added a ton of power or anything over using the Holley 650 Double Pumper Carb, but more optimized what I had already. I have yet to dyno the car with the Sniper EFI System. While running a Holley 750 Double Pumper, I dyno'd the Nova in May of 2016. At this time, I was having some ignition issues and had just taken the car out from winter storage and straight to the dyno, so those numbers could be off alittle. The results at the rear wheels were - 317hp/347tq.

The car starts at the turn of a key, just turn on the ignition and allow the fuel system to prime and turn the key to start and the Nova fires right up. No fuss or playing with the gas pedal as you would with a carberator or screwing around with a choke. Sniper controls it all.

Along with the Holley Sniper EFI Master Kit, I ordered the Holley Dual Sync distributor to go along with it, so the Sniper will also control timing.

The Nova sat for almost 3 weeks during the month of August in 2017, and I reached in, turned the key and it fired right up .... I was stunned, but amazed.

The only downside was the overall cost, but it's worth saving up for ... and my plan now is to save up and buy another system for the Omega!
